Hey, Erinesha!

SLIICK GARDEN started in Jacksonville
in 2011 with one small garden and a big
dream: to grow leaders and grow
community. Today, we’ve expanded to
Gainesville and beyond, building hubs
where youth and neighbors learn, share,
and thrive together.

We envision a vibrant, community-led
local food system where historically
native rural and urban communities,
those born and rooted in the places they
live and farm, maintain agency,
ownership, and control. We foresee a
future where Black-owned farms and
food businesses thrive through values-
aligned institutional markets, cooperative
structures, and dignified livelihoods.
